A city's no place for a store like ours

Our labels include everything from high-fashion New Zealand-made merino wool and merino-possum blends to sheepskin slippers and boots, knitting yarns, rugs, throws, wool blankets and other wool bedding products. While garment styles and ranges are constantly updated, our old-fashioned hospitality never changes, with free hot drinks and biscuits on offer. Visit our store and meet with one of our friendly staff of local ladies. They're experts in all things wool and have a good knowledge of local history and information. Stretch your legs with a stroll around our beautiful, diverse native New Zealand garden, or simply relax under a tree and breathe in the clean country air. Kids of all ages will love our friendly farm animals including alpaca, sheep, kune-kune pigs, rabbits, donkey and lots of hens and roosters.

Another Satisfied Customer

This little lady was unaware she needed a new outfit when she arrived at The Tin Shed but there was no getting her out of it once she had it on. And doesn't she look cute!!!! Could she be the next Rachael Hunter????

Happy Knitter

The before and after photos sent by a happy, and clever, customer in the northern hemisphere. Diane visited The Tin Shed in February and proudly wears the result of her endeavours two months later, made from the 'Touch' merino/possum knitting yarn that she purchased that day. The combination of merino wool & possum fur creates a yarn that is exceptionally warm yet lightweight.

Winter Woes

Hello everyone, we at The Tin Shed hope all of our friends and customers are surviving the winter without too many woes. We also wanted to share with you the view that we see each day from our little patch of paradise. While we may have shivered each morning with the recent run of frosts, succeeded by bright crisp sunny days, this view seems to make it all worth while.

Fashion Show

New Zealand Merino Possum and Alpaca at the Tin Shed New Zealand, International Delivery
While we have been very remiss in keeping you up to date with Tin Shed happenings we have not been idle as you can see. The photos were taken at a recent Fashion Show that we were guest participants in at the Geraldine Town & Country Club. Models included staff members, staff members' friends and a staff member's father even had his arm sufficiently twisted. The Fashion Show was a fundraiser organised by the local Lioness Club and much fun was had by all involved.

The Tale of Three Little Pigs

Hello everyone

Fiday the 26th of September was a special day at the Tin Shed. As I went about my daily round of feeding our animals I made a very exciting discovery. One of our female pigs,Fern had just given bith to three adorable little piglets. I wanted to photograph them immediately, but believe it or not, I had not yet learned how to take a photo on our digital camera. They were small ,soft and pink and they looked very fragile. When I finally mastered the camera it was seven days later and they had developed their black and beige dappled coats.

This picture shows the three little pigs playing in the grass under the watchful eye of their mother Fern.I have named the piglets Garfield, George and Ginger. I named the only female Ginger on account of her long sandy ginger coloured eye lashes

More tales of pigs and piglets in my next blog to come soon.
